First Ascent TNT, Basler Jura

Eptingen in the "Basler Jura" I go often for sport climbing and training. It is one my favorite local crags.

Back im march I was able to repeat the route "Symphonie C4" (8b+/c). For the following 15 days I worked on a new combination of "Mr. Nobody" (8a) and the crux section of "Synphonie C4".

As the name is suggesting "C4" requires an explosive climbing style on tiny sloping crimpers. I very much into this kind of climbing but I had to fight hard to do the redpoint ascent.

Aside from endurance you also need mental strength for the route as the crux is the last dyno, a nasty sting. Numerous times I missed the jug that follows the dyno. In my opinion "TNT" is harder than "C4" and surly around 8c. I encourage my successor on this route to try it and give their honest opinion about the great. It's a great climb!

Right in between the Strait of Magellan and Cape Horn there is a spectacular peak which resists the endless storms: Monte Giordano alias‚ Shark's Fin’.
