Cerro Torre, 3128m

The bizarre granite needle is in Patagonia, in the storm-tossed dreamland for adventurers and mountaineers at the southern tip of South America. The Cerro Torre is considered to be one of the most difficult mountains in the world to climb. Within just 16 hours, Robert Jasper completed the world’s fastest ascent from base camp to the summit. "It was a race against the storm coming in from the inland ice,” said Jasper. "We had just this one last chance to reach the summit. We stood at the top and immediately had to abseil down again because the storm was setting in. It took a tremendous effort to get back to the flat glacier and the base camp. It was sheer agony to climb non-stop for 32 hours and it wasn’t until a few days later that we were really able to celebrate our success."

Nuptse East 1, 7804m

‘The second highest unconquered mountain in the world’  The walls of the Lotse-Nuptse wall near Mt. Everest are among the highest and most difficult in the world! After more than four weeks of hard climbing and an ascent of 2000 metres on up to 90° ice and VII A3 cliffs, Robert Jasper and the team from the DAV Leistungsexpedition reached the Diamond Tower, the pillar summit. Their goal lay within their reach, but the attempt to be the first to ascend the summit of Nuptse East 1 was thwarted by a storm with wind speeds of up to 200 km/h

Mt. Mc. Kinley, 6194m

Mt. McKinley in Alaska is the coldest mountain in the world. In the space of just four days, Jasper reached the summit twice using different routes. Robert Jasper commented: "This mountain was the ideal cold test for me and my equipment. I really didn’t want to freeze! If you can survive on this mountain at temperatures around -50°C, you don’t need to worry about the cold any more!"
